Go to http://www.electronics-lab.com/ they have free software for electronics. Pspice 9.1 and Eagle layout are the best. Try ExpressPCB too.

SwitcherCAD from www.linear.com

Sounds like it is only for switching power supplies, but it is a great little general purpose SPICE / Schematic capture program. AND it is absolutely free.

dont know if this helps, but you could check on
www.sourceforge.net to see if they have any capture programs
I dont know if they still do it, but you could try
www.cadence.com and see if their OrCad package is still available
would suggest protel, but they're gone sort of
