Yeah let's ban it and see it become even more attractive. Let's watch people turn to even more crime by sourcing it illegally. Let's clog the legal system with people who bought a bit of grog. Bloody hell!! A little more respect for things that can cause harm when abused means we don't need to make everything illegal. By banning it, we are just going to go back to dirty stills in garages and people high on bad mixes. Leave the alcohol alone. Let the responsible drinkers have their little joy and let the alcoholics continue to cry 'poor me' through rehab.

Been there done that it doesn’t work.

Not just in the U.S. but other countries have done it…it didn’t work for them either.
1920 to 1933 in the United States
1914 to 1925 in Russia and the Soviet Union
1915 to 1922 in Iceland (though beer was still prohibited until 1989)
1916 to 1927 in Norway (wine and beer also included in 1917)
1919 to 1932 in Finland (called kieltolaki)
1901 to 1948 in Prince Edward Island, and for shorter periods in other locations in Canada

we already tried it. it was called prohibition and even resulted in a constitutional amendment. it didnt work and was ultimately repealed. why try to ban it again? the bottom line that most liberals in congress will never understand and didnt understand back then is you cant legislate effectively personal reality and common sense. cut and run is perfect proof of that.

Well the quantity of intake needs to be monitored. One should stop before it gets outta hand. By the way cigarettes should be banned. They are more injurious to health.

No can do. But we do need to make it harder to get for children. Higher taxes on alcohol wouldn't hurt either. Seriously tougher laws against drunk driving wouldn't hurt. Take their licenses away.
