My husband calls me baby, sometimes honey. I love it. And I do the same to him. Sometimes when he is talking about me he'll say the wife which I don't care to much for but it doesn't bother me that bad. I make fun of him for it sometimes. Thank God he doesn't say my ol' lady as I have heard others say. I am 22 so I'm not old by any means. Yes, it is a common term of endearment, it shows affection for another.
