Fresh Tattoo
Take bandage off in 2 hours
Wash tattoo carefully with warm soapy water
DO NOT SCRUB
Lightly pat the tattoo until dry…
DO NOT RUB
Apply a very thin coat of bacitracin or aquaphor ointment 3 times a day for 3 to 5 days
Although re-bandaging a tattoo is not recommended, if covering the tattoo is necessary a sterile bandage or dressing should be used.
Be sure and wash the tattoo every night and morning…
DO NOT SOAK
Avoid tattoo exposure to direct sunlight and refrain from swimming in fresh, salt or chlorinated water for at least 2 weeks.
After External Healing
Tattoos heal quickly BUT fading can still be a problem
Apply hand lotion once a day until dryness stops
Vaseline Intensive Care, Lubriderm, Nivea, etc...
Tanning fades tattoos
Always cover fully healed tattoo with sun block
DO NOT RUIN YOUR INVESTMENT!!!
Please Note:
Treat your tattoo with care… Improper care and bad advice can destroy your art!
Please contact a health care practitioner at the first sign of infection or an allergic reaction, and report any diagnosed infection, allergic reaction or adverse reaction to that artist and to the Texas Department of Health – Drugs and Medical Devices Division

If you got it on a part of your arm that bends/moves a lot, welcome to the world of "heal marks". If it looks like the ink is pulled out, or it's getting a thin white scabby layer (secondary peel), or is taking forever for the first set of scabs to come off, relax. This happens quite a bit if you get tattoos around an area that bends and moves a lit, like elbows and wrists. DO NOT EVER use petrolatum jelly/vaseline, neosporin or scented/baby lotion on tattoos as vaseline doesn't let your skin breathe, neosporin can pull ink out, and scented lotions tend to irritate the area and cause rashes. Just use whatver the artist gave you, or unscented lotion like Lubridrem a few times a day to keep it barely moist, or get some H2Ocean, it's the BEST thing ever invented for tattoo aftercare.

Try using a product called Bepanthen. It is an antiseptic cream available easily over the counter. Works great!

unfortunantley yeah it happens to the best of us. well, maybe not the best...ive heard the artist who tattoos you has alot to do with how the tattoo heals. if you got tattooed by a crappy artist who digs into your skin and goes over the same spot too many times it'll heal like ****.

its normal, it happens, its too dry, DO NOT use vaseline or pet jelly, they are barrier creams and prevent it from breathing, it needs to have moisture put back into it and allowed to breathe, Lasonil is excellent, its a tissue injury repair cream and works very well,
