My buddy has been a 100% Mac-enthusiast since...well..since they first came out. He is (was) running a pre-release of Leopard on his MacPro (those big nice ones). When I came over to see it, it looked the same as his previous OSX...and I asked him what was different. He said, "Well, it has the new Time Machine feature, which lets you restore your system to a previous date". And I responded, "Oh, you mean like the System Restore function that has been on Windows since version 3.1? Hehe". Other than that, he said there were some minor "chat" upgrades.

He came over a week ago to see my new Windows Vista Ultimate PC, with a 512MB ATI Radeon graphics card running two LCD displays, 3GB RAM, Intel 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo, dual TV Tuner Cards, and all the other bells and whistles.

After I showed him Media Center, and what I could do with TV, and how I could control my entire PC with voice command, and countless other new features in Windows, he said he wanted to switch to a Vista Ultimate PC.

You can now buy his MacPro on eBay. No joke. It's up as a 7-day listing. He said that Mac has been ahead of Windows for a LONG time...but at this point it's stupid not to move to Vista. It incorporates your entire life into a single machine: TV, Internet, phone, work, games, everything.

The big "deal maker" for him was the Media Center. It truly is the way God watches TV. I couldn't possibly imagine going back to regular TV without being able to search for shows by topic, actor, or even director. My PC even records stuff for me that it THINKS I'll like...such as any show that has to do with Bigfoot, etc.

Totally worth it to wait for Leopard.

Maybe Vista does have some nice features, but for the most part, Windows has been copying Macs OS for years.

OK, except for the restore point, but then again, Macs dont have near the crashes PCs do, so why would you need a restore point if your computer doesnt crash as often as Windows machines do.

Id hold out a bit for Leopard.
