Cooking rice in an electric rice cooker is great I think the time would be hard to predict because it is usually done when the water is absorbed. They are pretty fast probably less than 20 minutes.

Look up the brand of the rice cooker and google them for the website. Most appliance company's have a home page/website and offer not only tips for using it but usually recipes for it as well.
Many rice cookers are also able to make cakes, steamed vegetables, etc..; rice usually takes around 20 to 30 mins & most rice cookers will keep the pot turned on & keep the rice warm for several hours without you having to set it or tend to it!

It depends what kind of rice you use and if it has to be "sticky"/light style etc.But in any case it won't take ages.
