A lime is not an 'airy' fruit and it is the air in objects which makes them float. Since a lime is considered dense, it will sink.

Yes,it is not airy fruit,It's outer shell contains many pores,whenever we dip into the water,it absorbed,that's why a lime not float.

4 the same reason that a lemon doesn't float! slices or chunks of lime do tho- in a g & t- yum!
