you should not feel shame for your grandfather, but compassion. one day that might be you. your grandfather probably needs to be in a nursing home, but if not, you still have to live with it. you can tell your girlfriend about your grandfathers condition. and if she chooses to go to you home, she may have some understanding, and perhaps help you with your feeling towards your grandfather. you have to remember it is not his fault, and he cannot be held accountable for his actions because he is sick. you are still lucky, you can still live your life, your grandfather cannot. hope this helps you.

i may well be very worried approximately McCain's age, and this comes from own journey. I had 2 mom and dad who have been completely healthful till they reached their early 70s. My mom superior Parkinson's ailment and grew to become and invalid in an issue of many years. My father have been given a stroke, additionally leaving him practially an invalid and he began exhibiting indicators of dementia. regrettably the two gave up the ghost using coronary heart assaults interior of a three hundred and sixty 5 days of one yet another. the two have been of their mid 70s while they died. Having a discern who lived an prolonged existence is not any assure the two. My grandmother on my mom's side lived to one hundred and one, yet my mom's sister died in her 40s (maximum cancers) and her brother died in his 50s (coronary heart attack) . I nevertheless have one Aunt left, yet she has well being concerns of her own (problems using diabetes). regrettably, the sorrowful actuality is that as we improve in age, the probabilities of mortality and serious ailment will improve a great deal. there's a reason that existence coverage costs 20X extra for a 70 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous than a 40 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous, and in simple terms go on your close by nursing homestead - possibilities are high, practially all there are 60 and over. not too many of their 40s.

it sounds like he has dementia
this is a horrible condition and tough on those caring for sufferers
but instead of ignoring it , im sure your mum could do with an extra hand in the house to look after him
one day this could be your mum .... or you !
it is very common
so instead of trying to pretend he isnt there .... try caring and helping
even just little things like tidying up around him etc
he is your grandad after all
