Is it possible to convert right protected music to mp3 and still play them?

Question

I'm refering to the music I copied in right protection option which I can no longer play them (asking me to get the licence).

When select one and go to property it gives me the size and minute of the song except I can't play them anymore so I am wondering if I convert them to mp3, would they play?

When you copy you don't click protect.You allow it to be played on
any system.You then don't get the problem you have.
