....at my college dorm or in classroom if i have a warrant in the next county? I am in Texas and they are currently having a state-wide warrant round up. I was just wondering if they can come look for me, or if they just leave it to chance (such as a traffic stop) to arrest me. My warrant is for speeding and failure to appear, nothing serious.

Yes, they could but they will not do it. If you like you can turn yourself in to me and i could pad my status with an easy class C arrest. By the way the state wide warrant round up is aimed for person(s) with many warrants (10 plus).

If the city issuing the warrant is doing the round up and you are in another county, most likely they will not come get you. If the amount is very substantial and they have info on your where abouts, they can send local law for you. Technically though, yes. Unless it is a huge amount, I wouldn't worry about getting picked up but be advised - it will never go away.

You will be picked up when renewing your license, applying for new license plates or even doing an address change.

If they know where you are, they can come and pick you up. If you are in another county, they can contact the local police department and they will pick you up for them. It depends on the severity of the charge and the bond amount. I doubt that they will hunt you down and arrest you in class for a traffic warrant. You will more than likely be picked up on a traffic stop or if you are caught up in some other type of incident.

Dude, the cops in the county that has a warrant on you can get the cops from the county you're in to arrest you if they want. If you failed to appear for a speeding ticket I doubt they would arrest you but they would fine you. You should pay the fine so you don't have to worry.

yes, my ex wife got a warrant on her and she was just in a car that was pulled over by the police..they took her into custody as she had an outstanding warrant out on her...the warrant itself was not serious but she stayed in jail until someone bailed her out and that can cause you to miss work/school etc etc time is money?

That depends on who's doing the arresting the county sheriff from the county the warrents from? no. the state police? Yes. The sheriff/city PD in the county your in. Yes. The just do a curtisy hold and transfer you to the county that the warrent is out of.

failure to appear is a capias. it is serious. and yes they will arrest you wherever you may be at the time. home, dorm, school. you are wanted by the state. better to turn yourself in and take care of it right away than to wait for them to come get you at your dorm or more embarrasingly, in class.

Absolutely. I am a law enforcement Officer in Missouri and I could arrest you here on their warrant if they will extradite. You can be arrested anywhere in the country on their warrant, again providing they will extradite you.

For a moving violation i doubt Texas would waste the resources. They have far bigger fish to fry. But I would sugest taking care of that if only for your piece of mind.
