No extremes here, but in general, do guys prefer their women to be more assertive and headstrong or more passive and traditionally ladylike?

I think it's very individual - most men probably would not want a "doormat" of yesteryear yet at the same time, an over assertive lady can be too challenging for them to handle. Ladylike ? I don't think they exist anymore as urbanization has brought women in line with men this century

By instinct, men want to protect so from an evolutionary standpoint they prefer the barbie type, passive damsel in distress. But things have modernized and today some men even prefer aggressive types b/c they like others making decisions for them or b/c they arent used to taking initiative (perhaps a middle child). It all really just depends.

Well actually men perfer both. Most ":Real Men' wont &dont persue the openly (slutty) types well, except in the wee"dark" hrs at bars. And dont want friends to know> The real thrill to most guys is to find a classy woman whom at first might present herself as non-interested or prudish for awhile then change the tone by really "grabbing him" and saying something like "hmmmm I guess all the work was really worth it"!!!!!!!!!!!!!

amix of both assertive so they can stand up 2 others and not be used and to voice there mind. but not overly assertive that they are in the dominant position in the relationship. i prefer men and women to be equal in a relationship or else someone aint gonna be happy. hope i helped.

I have been both and it seems they like assertive more. Most likely due to bieng raised by a woman and see their mothers that way from a young age and expect to continue to be mothered.

Personaly I would prefer a woman that is more passive and traditionaly ladylike...... You have a better chance that they won't cheat on you........... or ........... does it mean they just have more skeletons in their closet and they don't talk because they are afraid a bone will pop out of their mouth?
