i watched i left with more questions then i started with
1. i thought it was a sin for Jews to touch the dead?
2 they took the time to write on there Jesus Son of Joesph and Judah son of Jesus but not Mary mother of Jesus?
3. Mary would have been buried with Joesph plain as that they wouldn't have two separate tombs. in fact Jesus would have been transported back to his falters tomb.
4. first James bone box is a fake now it's not lol
5.i loved the way they just shoved Mathew box out of the way lol
6. and they only did DNA on Jesus and Mary no one else
and why was Marys name in her Latin name and not her Hebrew name that right there screamed it was a fake but the show never addressed any of these things they went in there saying we have them there. so that's that i mean they didn't even date any thing
and that symbol at the top of the tomb they didn't even try ti find out what it meant to me sorry to say that looks like a Temple symbol oh BTW i am Christian but i wouldn't feel threatened if this was all true because maybe Christ spirit ascended and not his body and i have no prob with him and Mary being married i have always thought the church was hiding some thing about him and Mary they were really close if u read the bible

Filmmaker James Cameron is claiming he and some archeologists found the tomb of Jesus’s family. All the casket-like things called ossuaries are empty. I wonder what the archeologists were thinking when they found an ossuary with Jesus’s name on it. I can imagine the moment they removed the lid and looked in. If it were me, I’d wonder if I was going to see one of the following:
1. Nothing
2. Decomposed stuff
3. Jesus sitting up and saying, “What in Dad’s name took you so long?”
If you put an ordinary guy in an ossuary for 2,000 years, he’d clearly be dead. But if I were opening that ossuary I’d be wondering if maybe someone put Jesus in there after he died but before he arose. And maybe it’s hard to get out once you get in. I’d be worried that Jesus arose inside the stone box, and he’d be totally pissed that no one let him out until now.
I realize that this would not be the most rational worry in the world. But I like to base my worries on an expected value calculation. So for example, a 90% chance of getting a sliver would worry me about the same as a .000001% chance of a nuclear bomb going off in the backyard. In this ossuary example, I’d be looking at maybe a 2% chance of waking up an angry Jesus. I say that’s worth a worry.
If Jesus was in there, and sat up when I took the lid off, I’d first try to judge how angry he looked. If he had that money-changers-in-the-temple look, I’d go with a joke, like “Ha ha! Turn the other cheek!” Or maybe I’d try to explain to him that the extra suffering was extra good for humanity, and after all, that’s his job. Then I’d say, “Hey, I don’t like my job either, but you don’t see me complaining all the time.”
I know that some of you will say that if Jesus could move that big rock that was allegedly in front of his tomb in the traditional telling of his life, he’d have no trouble removing an ossuary lid. But he wasn’t supposed to be in an ossuary in the first place, so obviously if this ossuary is genuine, some of the details of the story were wrong. And if God let Jesus be crucified, it’s not a huge stretch of the imagination to think he’d let him stay in a stone box for 2,000 years. It makes sense to save your coolest miracle for when it’s needed most. And I think you’ll agree that this would be a good time for a messiah. And if you were God, you’d want James Cameron attached to this production. So it makes sense to me.
That’s why I’d be a crappy archeologist. I’d be afraid to open anything.

The father is usually noted in the name so a person looking at the tomb in that era will be able to determine the family roots. Usually a families wealth/pedigree is tracked by father's side. Also it doesn't say Jesus, Son of God, because he isn't seen in that light by people back then. Also to assume this Jesus is the Jesus Christ is jumping to conclusion. The odds were between 24million and 600 to 1 to be the Jesus of the bible. All the names in the crypt/tombs were very common names in that time era the only exception I've hear is the Mariamne name which is rather unique.

It was a bit unsettling. But there are a lot of unanswered questions. I would have thought that their first DNA test would have been Mary the mother and Jesus, not Jesus and the other Mary. It seemed like they were just out to prove the idea that Jesus and Mary were married and had a child rather then if this were really THE Jesus. And why would Mary's brother be there, just out of the blue. Where is the rest of his family? I don't know.. I need more proof before I deal with what will be a serious spiritual crisis of Jesus not being Resurrected.

Yeah, I had my differences with the show. I didn't count on getting as bored as I did watching it. I'm watching the rerun right now.
I actually fell asleep. So what I was trying to listen for is what they did with the issue of the Jewish lack of action to expose the fact that they still had his bones! If they had his bones, then the Jewish authorities only had to say so. They could have said, " Quiet down! You Christians are wrong, he didn't ascend, here are his bones!"
But nothing like that happened and so I think that this whole thing salls apart on the fact that those Jews that were loyal to their religious heiarchy counldn't prove the message of the Apostles. There is nothing to be found of them having any evidence to counter the Gospel message. They were in a mess because now they had to share Jerusalem with Christian groups; especially the Ebionites.

I didn't even bother to watch this thing at all. All scripture is God-breathed. 2 Titus 3:16. Therefore when the bible say's in Luke 24:3 "but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus."
Why would the God lie about this. Therefore his body cannot be found.
Jesus also said "watch out that no one decieves you." Mark 13:22
I believe that things like these cause doubt and when this happens satan is able to find a crack and weasel himself in.
also in 2 Timothy 3 Paul says in the last day's people will gather teachers around them in order to allow their itching ears want to hear.
I agree it will not destroy my faith but what good can theology like this come to? Therefore what is the reason for it?
I am glad that you found so many problems with it and did not fall for such foolishness. Sometimes it pays to be well read in the scriptures and to have some faith in things that cannot be so easliy explained. Kudos to you!!!!!

You make some very excellent points in your statement. This is about the 5th time they have found an ossuary that had written on it 'Jesus Son of Joseph'. The fact is Jesus and Joseph were 2 of the most popular names for men at that time in history in that part of the world. It's like digging up a casket today that had written on it 'John son of Joe' and then assumming that this had to be John F. Kennedy's casket who was the son of Joseph Kennedy. There's a lot of Johns and there's a lot of joes out there today just like there was a lot of jesus's and a lot of josephs back in that day.

If you were going to hide a casket, would you put it in Jerusalem and label it “Jesus”?
The name on the other casket was Miriamne. Coincidentally, that was the name of Herod's favorite wife. Miriamne was a very common name back in the day.

I did not watch it. I'll get it next week.
I had been told that the satellites broadcasting it would fall out of the heavens after being hit by lightening and I was afraid it might damage my sat dish gizmo.

What will a D@A test prove they have to match it.
If someone kills a person they get D@A from the seen and then from the person to get a match.
They can get D@A from the bones they found but they have nothing to match it with.
It's Bogus.
