First of all I'm going to be honest with you-it's not easy and losing weight takes a lot of determination and will power. Secondly don't go on these fad diets which say for example cut out carbs or proteins weight and you'll lose weight in 2 weeks-in the long run they don't work! The weight will come off then you'll end the diet but it will all come back on again and you shouldn't be cutting out a certain type of food. To be healthy you need carbs, proteins, vitamins, and even fats!
Ok so now I've got that out the way you need to start eating less, there are two different methods and different people prefer each of them; the first is to eat 3 small meals a day and no snacking OR there is the 6 even smaller meals a day-do which ever you prefer but remember to have all the nutrients you need.
So now you've got a healthy eating plan you need to start exersizing more, 3-4 days a week of about 45 mins to an hours worth because remember half an hour or less or exersize only burns glucose not fat.
Don't be too harsh on yourself and do allow yourself the occasional treat. Good Luck!

I was almost 300 pounds just five years ago. I had a baby and my weight just skyrocketed; after having him, I kept gaining. Bad habits die hard, you know? Anyway, I admittedly have no willpower and am a very hearty eater. I lost all the weight and have kept it off for three years now. The only thing I did was make myself drink 8 glasses of water EVERY day and exercise an hour EVERY day. I didn't change my eating habits whatsoever. I still eat whatever I want but I will say that as I became healthier, my choices became healthier by default. I just truly began wanting vegetables and fruits and fish and lean meats and became more and more repulsed by chips, candy, and processed junk. This is, of course, with the exception of Mountain Dew which continues to be my "worst" indulgence. (A can a day!) I still enjoy treats. In fact, I shared a slice of carrot cake from Wolfgang Puck's with the hubby earlier today!
I doubt I'll ever be the type of person who enjoys exercising. I don't get a high from working out, I hate every sweaty, red-faced, huffing and puffing moment of it, and I have to force myself to do it to this day. I have an elliptical machine set up and I exercise along with my nightly hour of TV. It makes time pass and since I look forward to that hour of TV every day, I find myself *not* putting the exercise off because I really want to watch whatever show it is I watch on whatever particular night it is. :-P Three days a week I lift weights to tone.
It wasn't easy and it took three long years to get to my current size 6 and 140 pound weight (I'm 5'10") but now that I'm here, I refuse to go back.
*sidenote* I had another baby just five months ago and already fit into my clothes again! If I can do it, you definitely can. Good luck to you!

I suggest that you try body cleansing. I tried it and really got lean quickly. I lost 15 pounds in 9 days and also 3 inches off my waist. I do body sculpting so getting leaner was my goal. My sister did this program too and she lost a lot of weight quickly. I did not know too much about cleansing but there are a lot of TV commercials about this stuff. This is a body cleanse and not just a colon cleanse, I wanted my body to get lean quickly and this did the trick! it depends on you every body is different and doesn't always respond to things the same try this no soda pop ex: pepsi coke md that stuff drinks lots of water watch how you cook your food and how much you eat depending on your bedtime don't eat after 7:00 pm walk after a meal. swiming is also a good way or go to the gym also you can try a product recomended by a doc.if stressed don't eat go for a walk or try something else to get your mind elsewhere. eat light menu food items when dining out its basicly trial and error to see what works for you but always check with a doc first to be safe before you try a pill or something along those lines cause they can hurt not help.

First things first. Know your body. Check your height, weight, & your BMI (body mass index).BMI tells you if you're overweight, obese, normal, or underweight. Look BMI at the internet, there are several free BMI calculators there. Knowing these will determine if you really NEED to lose weight & if so, how much you wannna lose.
Second, know your lifestyle. What foods do you eat? What do you do? Are you sedentary , go to the gym or are you active with any sport? Food AND Exercise are key to achieve your goal.
DO NOT be fooled with books, news , dietsor hearsays that you should take O% fat or too much protein or carbohydrates. These three are essential to the body--in sufficient amounts. Taking too much of 1 of the three may result in complications/ illness.
On food, you can't go wrong with eating fruits & vegetables. They have vital nutrients plus fiber, good for digestion & bowel movement. CHEW your food well. There's a recent study that people who chew food well(& hence take a longer time to finish his/her food) do not easily gain weight. WHY? Digestion starts on the mouth. When food is masticated(chewed) well, it helps in the faster digestion of food.Fast food digestion means better bowel movement(meaning undigested food stays longer in your body--particularly stomach & intestine, therefore ADDING to your weight) & better absorption of nutrients(some if not most, helps in losing weight) vital to the body. Make it a habit to eat a meal within 15-25minutes.(I know, in a FAST FOOD & Hi-speed world, this is hard to apply. But if you wanna lose weight, you have to do certain things, right?)
Also, be aware of the calories of the foods that you eat. Higher calories means MORE weight. High caloric foods are ALL junked foods(i know, too bad) those that are fried & almost all cooked the "unnatural" way. Try to stick with steamed or boiled foods. If you fry food often, try to fry in the shortest amount of time possible & try not to reuse cooking oil. Stick with coconut oil(PROVEN not harmful, but actually highly beneficial type of oil), olive oil, soya oil, corn oil--the HEALTHY Oils. Again, more calories means more fat in your body.
On exercise, do BOTH cardio & weight training. Cariovascular workout like walking, jogging, hiking, doing the treadmill & other gym equipments. Cardio workouts flush out toxins and & burns calories(READ: Fat). Weight training(dumbbells, barbells) to increase your muscles. More muscles, LESS Fat. Weight train with the appropriately-weighted dumbbells for your body(i.e., if you're a man, you use dumbbells that weigh more;if you're a woman, dumbbells or barbells with less weight, UNLESS you wanna build more muscles just like guys have).
Remember, everything i stated above is for overall body health.Meaning, you will not only lose weight, you'll be healthy as well.Don't go for quick fixes.Let your body lose weight the natural way. Just 3 things: eat healthy foods, watch those calories, & exercise.
Good luck!
