Nothing happens in the world in vain. Everything has a cause. The creation of the world and cosmos was due to a stir in the cosmic harmony. If everything is in equilibrium the state is called rest in science of mechanics. There are three states as per spirituality. One is inertia, the other is activity and third one is balanced. When all the three states are in equilibrium, no creation takes place. Once there is a slight disturbance then creation starts. Then everything is cause and effect only. For example, there is a placid lake of water absolutely quiet. If you put a small stone in the water, waves though small starts from the centre and travel up to the edge. Likewise human beings are blessed with discrimination. Based on desires we act. Consequent to that there will be a result. Hence for everything to happen there must be an underlying cause unnoticed-nagarajan.

yes i do. I would love to elabrorate on why but where would i begin? You don't want a essay i am sure. LOL. so just let me say this...If I would not have been a drug addict then I wouldn't be able to understand it and help others with this affliction. If i had not had my parents and Grandparents and had such a hard life I would not be so compassionate. If i would not have slept with an ex-boyfriend one last time I would not have my beautiful 8 year old son, regardless of the mistake it was to be in a relationship with his his father it was to start with. If I would not have married my first husband then I wouldn't have known how to treat the beloved husband I have now. Yes everything happens for reason good things and bad.

yeah. I think that there is an order in life. You go shopping..you stop at the gas station....you pull out your cell to make a call and someone hits you from another lane. If you had not stopped at the gas station would the accidnet still have happened? The accident can show you how short life is and can show the other person to pay attention to driving.

Not really. I think that people retrospectively attribute happenings in their lives with what their life currently entails. Like, I have a great boyfriend now. I could say that I broke up with my last boyfriend for a reason - so that I could meet and be with my current boyfriend. But really, all I am doing is retrospectively attributing that breakup to my current situation. You could say that anything happens for a reason re: anything else. For many people, this "everything happens for a reason" sentiment is selective. Crap happens, or it doesn't; that's it. There is no rhyme or reason.

Yes, I believe it does. And I also believe we have a choice. And when bad things happen it's because somewhere down the track we made the wrong choice. We think we're listening to our heart, mind, soul, or concious, but with so many thoughts in our mind, how were we sure we were listening to the right one!
But, sooner or later, the things that were meant to happen will happen.
Just let go- every prophet in every religion said it. Let go of all your attachments (you don't need that car, house, boat, bike, job that pays crap, partner that doesn't respect you, etc.). Your life is short here, make the most of it without hurting anyone else and make sure you acumulate more good thoughts than bad.
A bad example is Fight Club with Edward Norton & Brad Pitt. Edward was stuck in his way: Long working hours, shitty boss, lonely home, Ikea crap everywhere. Then he finally listened to a voice (the wrong voice, but still took him where he needed to go), he got out of his hole and lived life a little more enjoyably. That led him to meet a woman, a woman he connected with on many levels, and who accepted him for who he was. Unfortunately he listened to Tyler Durden for too long, but before killing himself because he knew the mistakes he made- he shut that evil voice down and listened to the one that led him to his love!
There's a similar moral in most movies!
Trust yourself!

No. For that to be true, some intelligent entity would have to be causing every single thing to happen that ever happens. I don't think any such entity exists, therefore I don't believe that everything happens for a reason.

.........Implying what? That the reason something occurs is one way or the different directed to take position? by technique of who? What? this theory, or something very similar to it, is this kind of common human concept. the favor to have self belief that there is something 'different' outside of ourselves to describe issues. faith the massive party obviously. I easily do no longer have self belief this. each and each and easily everyone individuals is a distinct party of a human being; the concept, the very theory that what I do is one way or the different managed and manipulated by technique of a few imaginary 'larger ability', is the worst issue i visit imagine.
