I found a recipe for sandies. I made them just like the recipe, which called for " 1 inch round balls one inch appart ' on the baking sheet. When I pulled them out, they were still round. Are they supposed to stay ball shaped or were they supposed to flatten out? My mother-in-law bakes and if they are the wrong shape, I know she will make fun of me for it. They do taste good though,.

Keebler's pecan sandies are flat. I'd just take the dough, roll it into a replica of the Pillsbury slice n' bake rolls, wrap it in waxed paper, cool in the fridge, then slice and bake. She'll love 'em.

they should flatten a little but not completely. my mom puts pecan halves on top of hers for the last few minutes, so that might help in flatting them out. good luck and enjoy. don't let your mother-in-law get to you.
