i am curious because i am considering purchasing a toyota celica and my current car stereo can play mp3 cd's which i really enjoy because it saves me the hassle of having to change cds and is very convenient. well i am wondering if the standard stereo can play mp3 cds or what

The last production of the Celica was in 05. I would be surprised to see any car produced in 05 with a oem mp3 player. Sadly enough they don't come with one. Unless you find a celica with a aftermarket cd/mp3 player. Unlike cars of 06/07 which have the option of a mp3 stereo and so forth. Previous years. mp3's was not an option. So to answer your question, no. Although you can purchase a pretty cheap but good quality Head Unit that plays mp3 cd's. Look at my sources below to help you further.

Take the car for a test drive. Bring a CD with you.
