i have got cataract surgery on thursday and on very next day i haver got medical test to check eye vision as reuired by new employer. Would i be able to see/ read things clearly under eye testing machine ?

I would get this held off for at least a week if possible. Your vision will be noticeably brighter the next day, but may not be completely crisp that early, although it is not uncommon for for VA to be 20/20 with in 24 hours it is not the norm. The risk of infection would not be much of an issue after the procedure( 1 in 10,000), I'm sure you will be on antibiotic drops afterward, and most employer screenings just check visual acuity and color screening, nothing that touches the eye. FYI, most cataract surgeries will only correct near or distance vision not both without a special multfocusing lens. Stop at Walmart try out some readers for your near vision. Start with a +150 and go higher from there if needed, grab something from the shelf and see what power you need to read comfortably, at least until healed well enough for your new prescription ones, your old glasses will be useless.

I would be inclined to have this eye vision test put back to a later date. If I were in your very difficult place I would be very wary of letting anyone other than the surgeon who carried out the operation near my eyes for fear of infection.
I know what I'm talking about as I have to have a major operation on one of my eyes soon and the consultant tells me that any type of eye procedure is wide open to infection.
I suspect that you never told your new employer about your cataracts and that is why you are asking us.
Good luck but err on the side of caution here..I am sure your employer will be understanding. Anway there is no way of knowing that you will be able to go to work the next day have you thought of that?........Hint hint!

Generally the patient returns home the same day as the procedure and then returns the following day for examination. A patch is placed over the operated eye and worn until the follow-up examination the next day. Antibiotic and anti-inflammatory eye drops will be prescribed for use for several weeks to assist the healing process.
Expect complete healing in about 10 weeks. Glasses or contact lenses may then be fitted if the clarity of your vision needs to be refined. Close follow-up with the surgeon is essential.

I had keyhole surgery for cataracts and could see perfectly after the anaesthetic wore off. I had to see the surgeon the day after the op for check.

No you will not be seeing properly. It takes one-two weeks for vision to become normal.
After your surgery, your eyes need to go through the healing process and this cannot be done overnight.
You need to change your eye test appointment.
Ask your surgeon, he/she will say the same thing.
