Well I have to agree with you. My cousin has memory loss due to Aspartame by dring Diet Cokes all the time. There is no medical evidence that this is true but lets say that anything unnatural is not good for you and will obviously cause problems in one way or another.
By the way, when she stopped drinking Diets her memory has improved!

The LD50 point for Aspartame is >10 gm/kg, so assuming you weigh 120lbs or so, (55Kg), you may decide for to ingest a splash over a pound (~0.5kG) of organic aspartame to have a 50% hazard of poisoning your self...to place that in the time of perspective, it rather is the equivalent of ingesting quite a few THOUSAND packets of Crystal gentle potential each and each...

As I understand it, Splenda is the only artificial sweetener that does not cross the blood-brain barrier. The others run the risk of causing cancer in the brain. These days, pretty much anything over time could be considered a poison.

anything with artificial sweetener is bad for you IF you consume it over a long period of time. Sure people drink it because it's less "fattening" and that dietbetics consume it... stuff like that.
If you're still concerned, I'd recommend talking to doctors, chemists, or you can just search it through search engines.

yes choose drinks which are sweetened with Splenda which is made from sugar cane but which has a lot less calorific value i.e. it is safe for diabetics so it should be safe for you

Absolutely!
It is one of those substances that is bad for you in even moderate doses. One of the problems appears to be that when it was originally tested, it was argued that the amount present in a carbonated drink wouldn't cause harm. Possibly true for a single can of pop, but a lot of people drink more than a single can a day. Plus, the stuff is used all over the place now, in sweets, chewing gum, etc.
It maimed and killed monkeys in the original tests, which were then swept under the carpet. In my opinion, there will be a major backlash in the next ten years, as it becomes obvious that a large percentage of the population have been deliberately poisoned in the name of greed, and suings aplenty will abound.
If you can avoid it at all, do so!
