I was on a plane and the engine started vibrating violently and noisy the new made and emergency landings whay could of caused it??

I am assuming you were on a commercial jet aircraft. a compressor blade might have chipped and made the engine out of balance this can happen without causing a major failure but the crew would shut it down and try to land at the first safe airfield and not risk continued flight. There are many other possible reasons but I think this one is the most likely.

it could have been several things all of which made the crew determine it needed to be checked further by maintance. It could have been internal engine parts breaking or cracking caused from a variety of things or yes a bird could have been sucked into the engine.

Any of several different things. A bad valve, a cracked cylinder, a flaw in the propeller, A broken piston or piston rod, or numerous other problems could have arisen.

was it a jet or piston. Could have been anything the important part is that you got down OK
