what do you think about teens having sex without telling their parents?

I don't think teens should have sex since they are too young. And typically, most teens DON'T tell their parents that they have sex.

I feel that if someone doesn't want their parents to know that they are sexually active, then they are too young for sex!

If the teen is not capable of having a mature discussion with their parents about sex, and has to hide the fact that they are having it, I think that is the teen's way of admitting they are doing something wrong!

Most teens truly are not mature enough to make those decisions or handle the consequences and emotions regarding sex. If for some reason they really feel they are, they should ensure they are protecting themselves against STDs, pregnancies, and the possibility of a fatal disease!

Why the hell would they tell their parents??? That's the dumbest idea I've ever heard of! One of the reasons sex is so much fun when you're a teen is because it's looked at as breaking the rules; take that part away and it just becomes another sport...orgasms are nice, but kids get much more fun out of pulling a fast one on adults.

I was up front with my parents when i first had sex and i hope that my daughter can be too. I would rather she does it in my house where i know she is safe and can ensure she uses birth control then doing it in the back of someones car. Put it this way they are going to do it with or without the parents approval all you can do is try and educate them about what it actually means and that they don't need to have sex with every tom, harry or dick he he he.

I say to wait until marriage. It is not a very healthy thing for teens to have sex, they are too young and cannot handle the emotions involved.

At least practice safe sex get a condom and go on birth control pills.

Good luck and G-d bless !!

Teens should have the courage to discuss the matter with their parents... And parents should have the courage to talk openly with their kids about sex...

Teens should be given lots of information and encouraged to talk to their parents... SEX HAPPENS... And information is invaluable...

And parents should make sure their kids know about protection... OR to get the girls on the pill as soon as their period starts...

It is better to be exposed to the world of sex in the teen age. AS a result of this you loose your extra curiosity about sex and can concentrate on other important things of life.

That's up to the individual who is mature enough to handle the consequences if something goes wrong, such as an unwanted pregnancy or a rape. I, personally, don't condone teen sex because too many are immature to handle the seriousness of relationships.

I think most teens know the dangers these days.. they're constantly being told over and over again the consequences for not being careful. And lots and lots of them are doing it--with condoms. I dunno, I'd say its pretty normal at their age for them to be involved in things like this... I just wish parents would be more open about it so it's easier to talk about.

I try not to think about it, but sometimes it just creeps in. In the old days nobody told their parents. Don't know what the norm is now. I wouldn't expect them to tell me tho. It's part of leaving the nest. Learning what it's like to fly and risk crashing to earth.
