This morning before I went to work I took a large plastic zip lock bag and placed 8 large spoons of flour, garlic powder, onion powder, ground pepper, seasoning salt and paprika and mixed it all together and then placed a pound and a half of good stew meat in the bag and shook it well to coat. Then I seared the meat in a frying pan in a little oil and placed it in the crock pot with about 3 cups of hot water in which I had dissolved 8 beef bullion cubes and 2 bay leaves. I put the crock pot on low and it will cook all day until about 3:00, when my husband will dump in the cut up carrot, potato, celery, pea pods and onion and put the lid back on to continue cooking.
By the time I get home at 6:00 dinner will be ready and I'll just make a quick dinner salad and rolls. The flouring of the meat will make the bullion thick and I will have a healthy thickened beef stew that is flavorful, healthy and very tender. This is just so simple and tastes wonderful after a long day at work. It's lovely to come home to the aroma of a fresh homemade meal!

Look up Hungarian Goulash on a recipe website.
It's the best one I've ever tried and I've been using crock pots for years.
Mainly just beef, potatoes, vegetables, bay leaf etc.
I love to have it with freshly buttered bread.
