If the two do not go together, you have the wrong religion. Being true to yourself and to your religion should go hand in hand.

I prefer to 'being true to myself'. Having said that, I wish to add a corollary to that: I may at times, make a show of 'being true to my religion' in order to survive in the community in which I have to live

The Jews had this comparable situation bear in mind what Jesus mentioned concerning to the Scribes and the Pharisees, Jesus even caught to each little thing the bible mentioned because of the fact he stayed consistent with the scriptures. and that's what a real Christian does, Many church homes enable human beings call themselves Christians even whilst they're hung over each and every Sunday morning or in the event that they convey their single substantial different with them, or in the event that they a gay and grasping and many different issues, yet a real Christian would not get the identify of being a Christian in the event that they proceed that style of existence type and maximum possibly those style of persons attack Jehovah Witnesses for the way the have faith, circulate parent!

Being true to God is being true to myself.
How totally selfish & closed minded it would be of me to believe I came about by means of some germs swimming around in a cesspool! That all this beauty & wonder, just happened by accident!
What would be anyone's purpose on this green earth if all we did was live untill we died?Who would care if we did great things? What would it profit us to love our fellow man & protect the innocent? To feed the poor & needy?
God did not make us like the animals, who have no culture or society, who eat their own young & care not if another of their pack starves to death.
I know God exists & that is truth to myself.

True to myself!
If my religion doesn't fit me and I find myself trying to decide between the two, it's time to find a new religion.

Being true to myself is being true to my religion. (Granted, I do not follow a mainstream religion). I always believe in being true to myself.

If I was true to myself, I'd be being true to my faith.
If I was true to my faith, I'd be being true to myself.
Religion can't be trusted, faith is where it's at. The terms aren't interchangeable like some people think... faith is your beliefs and how you act on them. Religion is the social structure built up around a faith... I don't trust it.
