When you get to high school take auto shop class (if they still offer it) It will help you do a lot on your future car. I think the earliest you can drive is 16 with an adult but it could be 18. It's been a while since I got my license. You can call the DMV and ask them.

First off, what the hell do you know about cars? I'm guessing absolutely nothing since your comparing a eclipse to a 350z. Which is totally horrible. Do you even know what motors they use???? IF you had any sense, you would realize that DSMS SUCK.

YOU shouldn't get any FAST car at 16 for these reasons

1)You will kill yourself because of your inexperience. 350z is a fast car.

2)You will put a bodykit and a fartcan

3)You dont know **** about cars

4)Your insurance will skyrocket. Anything that has to do with "turbo" or "modding", your insurance will increase.

5)You will street race

6)You will be a ricer

My reccomendation is a Volvo. Safe, reliable car. Most modding i would do is a cold air intake

Seriously, stop playing Need For Speed. Your getting it confused with Real Life.

P.S. I think your parents are messing with you. The 350z is a 20,000 dollar car. Thats used. Are they really going to trust you at 16? Plus, once they find out the insurance, they will faint.

13..so young. I am guessing the age requirement in CA is maybe 16. So you still got 3 years. Your taste in cars could change by then. But to answer your question anyways...... I am not sure if you are talking about the newer eclipse (2006-2007) but if you are I would say nissan 350z then. I think it's a better tuner car.

being 13 I'll assume you don't have muck cash, so the eclipse and 350z are probably going to be out of your price range. I know ppl look down on them allot but civics are a great first car. cheap, reliable, and tons of aftermarket parts for performance

You could start learning about engines right now. Get a go cart or a lawn mower or something and learn how they work. Move up from there. In three years you might know enough to distinguish what will be best for you.
