Hindus revere the cow for a very different reason than known to others. Many believe we ( Hindus ) consider the cow as God but that is not exactly the case.
In ancient times and even now, the cow was considered a valuable property since the cow was useful to mankind in many ways. It helped to plough the field where rice and wheat was grown. It provided milk whihc is also used to produce butter and cheese. The cow was also a mode of transportation ( bullock cart ). Considering all this, the ancient Indians decided to classify the cow as holy.
In order to inculcate respect for the cow in the hearts of the mass, ancient Hindu mythology included the cow as a consort to the Gods and built statues of the cow in temples.
At such we would not feel sad or hurt if the cow is consumed as food by people of other religions. As long as we are not having it ourselves.

lol, we are not covered in cows. I live in Wisconsin,in Milwaukee to be exact. The only cows around here are on the farms way out in the country or at the zoo on Bluemound Road. There are no cows in the city, and much of Wisconsin is city or towns.

If Wisconsin is covered in cows, we dont think its a holy land if that what u r trying to ask..nor we do think its a sin land bcz they grow cows for meat..its just none of our business...
but I bet my grandfather would love to see Wisconsin bccz in their days lots of ccows mean symbol of prosperity..bcz u need lots of mother nature...like water and grass to feed cattle...

There are Hindus who are not religious and there the ones who are religious but indifferent.
So the not-religious ones probably enjoy their beef burger whereas the indifferent ones don't give a damn as long as they are not the ones eating those Wisconsin cows.
