thats a joke right? Sickle cell is common is black people because in Africa sickle cell protects from malaria which is common in Africa sooo, those with sickle cell obviously outlasted those who didn't have it because they had died of malaria already. Its common in their genes but its not contagious, you are born with it. Now if you have a child with someone who is black the chances are higher for your child to inherit it but kissing, no way!

I feel sorry for your mom, she is very ignorant and quite racist

that is absolutely NOT true!! your mom must not like "black" people. In that case then if you kiss a white person you can get cancer. It's okay to voice your opinions but not to degrade anothers race. She's most likely trying to scare you into not dating a black person. Sickle cell is more like a hereditary sickness. I wish that people wouldn't teach their children such negative thoughts about other races.

Sickle Cell Anemia is genetic, not a communicable disease, and is extremely unlikely to affect white people, regardless.

OMG What century is your mom from?

All colors of people are the same, we just have more or less melatonin in our skin. Me......I lack melatonin.

Gosh, that is an awful thing for your mother to say.
I was in love with a black man and kissed him many times.

Please understand that your mother is wrong in so many ways
