Been there done that. Go to Chicago not Indy to depart, it's a lot cheaper. Not O'Hare either, but Midway. i saved a lot of money going that route.

South Bend, because they have nonstop low-fare service to Vegas on Allegiant Airlines. http://www.allegiantair.com Due to this, United has matched, and even beaten, their fare, with Tues. and Wed. departures in April and May are only $217 roundtrip, all taxes and fees included. Allegiant is a nonstop flight to Vegas.

The cheapest out of Indianapolis Int'l is currently coming up as Frontier, however it looks like that fare is pretty much sold out, so when you look at only seats available, taxes and fees included, right now cheapest from IN is South Bend.

Probably Indianapolis because there's more competition from there (compared to a smaller airport). However it depends on where in Indiana you live.
