Jolie was married to a Brit for five years; perhaps she picked it up from him. She grew up in New York and LA.

Boston New England areas....I'm from the mid west and I pronounce some words as if I were from England its just depends on where you live and who or what influences the people. If you have traveled a lot you use and pronounce English differently then someone who has not I find living in several states I have a different command of the English Language.

You definitely find a more proper English in the New England states, especially in Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. I believe this is because many of the people from this area tend to be a bit more historic than in other areas since there is a lot of history. I also think that more wealthy, old world money comes from these areas, hence the better quality of language in general.

Anyone who travels extensively picks up words and pronunciations. For some reason they just feel right and immediately become part of your vocabulary. I use the word tellings a great deal of the time and get some "Huh" sounds and looks. I picked it up in Hong Kong.
