I sold a item on ebay, the buyer sent the $ to my paypal acct and they said i have to verify that I was actually who I was. So I gave them what they asked for, my bank acct, and credit card info. They said it was still limited, because it was related to a other acct that had a negative balance. I dont have any other paypal acct so I have no idea what theyre taking about. Can someone please help me?!

never click an link in email to paypal. **Always** log in by going to the website yourself. All correspondence will be there under your account. Spoofs about paypal are getting increasingly sophisticated, and it's safer to go directly to the website yourself and log in. Repeat: *never* click an email link. contact paypal right away through their website to make sure your account is secure. Forward the email to them with all headers revealed as well.

Always check the bottom right of your browser for the secure sign ( lock).
Also watch for the link address of the message, you can easily spot additional words that prove the link is not the authentic PayPal site.
The trouble is not the hackers that try to rip you off, it's PayPal attitude not fighting these hackers where ever they are, plus PayPal DO NOT honor their insurance claim against hackers.

I would avoid PayPal all together, and be happy if they really FROZE your account with them, you will have to have the pain of closing your bank account /credit card but it's better to be safe than sorry. PayPal is a tremendous inconvenience and a source of serious problems. I am posting with my ebay auctions : DO NOT ACCEPT PAYPAL!
Do the same.

Call your bank and credit card company immediately and have your numbers changed. This sounds like a scam and someone probably now has access to your accounts ad the funds in them under the current numbers.

Never, Never give anyone account numbers and never log into paypal or ebay though a link in an email. If you have to get into your paypal or ebay accounts, ALWAYS open a new window and log into the website by typing in the paypal.com or ebay.com URL yourself.

If PayPal or ebay needs additional information from you, you should see a prompt once you access your account asking for what they need...with Paypal it will be on the initial screen after you log on and with eBay it will be in your messages in your My eBay page.

This could be a spoof. Don't respond to it until you check it out. Forward the email message to spoof@paypal.com If it is for real, they'll tell you. If it is a "phishing" email, they'll tell you. Good luck!
