Whenever I buy a new, sealed pack of cigarettes I notice that they are weaker and less flavorful, but if I let them sit around a day they magically become stronger and more flavorful. I've just wondering if anybody else who smokes has experienced this and could shed some light on it or even a non-smoker who might have an answer.
-Thanks for any help
*Sidenote*
And like most people say when they ask a question about booze, tobacco, or something taboo, please try to refrain from putting comments up to the regards that "smoking is bad", "you should quit", "you shouldn't smoke in the first place."

I can understand it being harsher/stronger if let dry out a bit but I mean if it was stale and drier wouldn't there be less flavor to it? And also it seems the nicotine hits me harder after I let it sit for a day which is also weird. I mean anybody who smokes cigarettes doesn't put it in a humidor so basically anybody who smokes cigarettes are smoking stale ones?

quit smoking ciggs,,they don't get you stoned they are very expensive, you are realy paying some big company to kill you,
if you like tabacco have you ever grew your own,you can buy tobacco plants, these plants get real large, very prety too.
smoking this will not be so bad for you as thiers will,,,,they soak it with all kids of cemicals. or just grow cannabis

Once you open the pack, the moisture content of the cigarrettes change. which affects the flavor. Maybe you are used to smoking stale cigarettes, so you prefer that flavor. Dry material can produce harsher/stronger smoke.
Smoke up Johnny!
added:
Yes,you have adjusted your taste for cigarettes that are harsher and have stronger flavors. Moist tobacco produces a smoother, milder flavor and probably an softer nicotine "buzz". Most cigarettes don't last that long so although they do dry out slightly once you open a pack, you smoke them before they go stale.

Well, I'm an occasional cigar smoker, but I can probably answer this for you. When you buy a cigar, you leave it sealed in the tube, or in a humidor, until you smoke it, because you don't want it to dry out, thus becoming....nasty. I'm sure cigarettes are the same way. Once you unseal the pack, the cigarettes are given a chance to dry out, thus becoming as you said...strong. You're probably accustomed to smoking dried out cigarettes. These aren't ideal conditions, but again, you're accustomed to it.

Buying the name brands as opposed to the generics can produce a better smoking experience as they have more real tobacco.

My (very clever) cats do no longer smoke. however the female is often bringing me the crinkly cellophane wrappers from cigarette applications and leaving them on the back door mat as "presents".
