non-immigrant visa means she or he are not allowed to work here in the United states. They are just here for vacation. Immigrant visa means she or he can work over here and eventually will be allowed to get their ciitizenship.

non immigrant visa is for limited time only from 30 days to 6 months and visitor must leave the country by or before the terminus of the visa and must show proof they have ties in their home country to draw them back before it is granted, family, own home, farm business, job. immigrant visa is granted for a limited time for those desiring to move permanently to US and has something of benefit usually to offer society, doctor engineer teacher and has nothing to lure them back to their home land must apply for green card and social security register their whereabouts any time it changes become a naturalized citizen after 7 years at swearing in ceremony
