My dog hasn't been feeling well lately and today he threw up all of his food. There was a smooth white rock like thing in it about the size of a quater??

It's physically impossible to vomit a kidney stone. The only opening they connect to is the urethra (hole for urination). However, it's possible he vomited something called a bezoar, which is a collection of indigestible material in his stomach. Watch him, and if he isn't feeling better by tomorrow I would call your vet's office.

No, it's not a kidney stone. Just keep an eye on the dog, hold off for a few hours on food and water. Let his stomach settle for a a while. When he starts to feel better after a few hours. Give him just a little food and water, not a lot. If that stays down then he should be alright. Keep and eye on him tho for a day or so. If he starts getting sick again, I would say to call his doctor. Hope this helps.

Kidney stones can only be passes when they pee. Sometimes
they have to be removed. If your dog threw something up today,
that probably what made him sick. If he isn't better in a day or
two a call to your vet would be a good idea.

A dog can no more pass a kidney stone through it's mouth than you or I can urinate through our ears. Just something he swallowed, I'm sure.

Also, you should take him to the vet to be sure that he's okay and out of the danger zone.

Not possible to thow up a kidney stone, but she had eaten something that was keeping her tummy upset. Mine does that, and it will be a rock! (most common)
One time it was a milk cap, another it was a huge pod, like a giant lima bean, and once it was a piece of bone..I never can figure where he finds these things!

No its not a kidney stone (dog don't get kidney stones anyway they get bladderstones).
I would say that your dog has eaten a stone. Whether it is the stone that has made it vomit or it was feeling ill and so ate the stone we may never know.
I saw a Rottiweiler once who had a cooked bone stuck and he must have felt ill so he ate a massive amount of stones.
