I suggest someone check out the profits made by armor for Humvee's corporations, ammunition corporations, airplanes, choppers, artilery pieces, boots, body armor, chemical masks, torrtias and helmet liners.
I bet everyone of them are highly and timely paid.
I just wish troops would be that high on the priority list.

It is such a shame how the Republican party and their wealthy supporters have taken advantage of their power over the past 6 years. Its amazing that a political party that campaigns on a "family values" platform and claims to represent the best interests of the Christian community can be fueled by so much greed. The worst shame of all is how they have exploited the patriotism and bravery of our troops for profit. The biggest defense contractor that the USA uses for the Iraq war is Haliburton. Recently a news story revealed that Haliburton was responsible for approximately $2.5 Billion in over charged or unaccounted for funds. VP Dick Cheney was CEO of Haliburton prior to becoming Vice President of the USA in 2000. Shame on all of us, the American people, for not being wise enough to see through the Republicans' lies and corruption in 2000 and 2004. The power of the vote was heard in 2006 and it will be in again in 2008 as long as you and I continue to speak up.

Saddam Hussein is gone. The Sunnis & the Shiites have been fighting for centuries and will continue to fight long after American troops leave Iraq. Its time to bring our brave troops home...!

Taxes work like this:

High taxes, no one will want to set-up a business or expand if they cant make a profit, so you lower the tax and they flock in, making jobs and helping the poor become economical independent from the government.

I think however that all troops should never have to pay taxes, its just another thing they should have for serving our country.

You are misguided. The defense department pays the corporations for THE EQUIPMENT THEY PROVIDE FOR THE CONDUCT OF THE BATTLE OF IRAQ. They are NOT PAID to NOT SERVICE VETERANS PROPERLY. There ARE tax loop holes and there has been tax loop holes long before GW became president. You ARE a Bush basher and probably have been when you considered it to be cool or thought it was fun to try to shock people or for some other misguided reason in your confused state.

Speaking as a business owner, it sure is a great feeling to know that despite a crushing national debt, the government always honors their debts and their checks always clear the bank without exception (a stark contrast to the way some folks in the private sector handle debt).
As for a business making a profit, usually government contracts are but a portion of their total customer base, so there is absolutely no telling who is responsible for the profit. However, my own experience tells me that since government contracts are almost always awarded to the lowest bidder, it is quite possible their other customers are making up the largest portion of said profit.
As for me, I steer clear of government contracts for that exact reason (low profits), but I can tell you their 100% we always pay and our checks always clear attitude sure is tempting.

If this were really happening then you should be able to provide some examples.

Or are you just one of those people who dislike President Bush and as a result you will believe anything anybody says about him as long as it is negative?

I'm sure there are thousands of nutcase liberals like you that DO check out these companies. It's funny, half the time you people say Bush is an idiot and then you say he is a conspiracy mastermind. Does this opinion depend on what you are smoking?
