There are very few sleeping meds on the market right now that will kill you in huge amounts. It's not like the good old days when our parents and grandparents had great drugs.

To the person whose friend ODed , I'd like to know what meds he used and was alcohol involved ?

You can overdose on anything. Even though you overdose somethings can not kill you. Sleeping pills can be harm full and you will need your stomach pumped if you do overdos
e of certian types.

It depends on the type. If you're using a sedative antihistamine Unisom (I think it's the same active ingredient as Benadryl) then if you take too much you will feel restless, instead of sleepy. It's not good to rely on sleeping pills, as they screw with your natural sleep cycles. They can also easily cause you to oversleep (which will also make you tired all day), or wake up still groggy.

Never, you will get addicted to that and the dosage will keep on going up and that is not at all advicable.

Insteat just consult an Psychiatrist, it may be some internal problem and u can get a better solution.
