I'm not sure if this is really even a question. More of a rant I suppose ;)

For a couple years I've been outside the U.S. doing church volunteer work in Asia. I had a girlfriend when I left, but I didn't really think anything about it. Now I'm back, she's married, and I can't help but compare any girl I potentially date with her.

Wierd huh?

I'm 21, single, and never been involved with anyone too seriously. I had plenty of friends, and in high school I dated alot, but now the only girl that's really out of reach is the one I compare every other girl with.

Maybe I'm a perfectionist, but I can find flaws in almost every girl I see, and only really find a select few very attractive.

*sigh* what's wrong?

sounds like you still have feelings for this one and you need to take some time to reflect on her, learn to get over her, and then completely move on.

comparing girls is not good. nobody is going to be perfect. look for positive qualities in each girl you date and enjoy them for it.
don't go looking for flaws.

but at the same time, know what you want in a relationship and don't waste time on girls that don't appear to be a compatable match..

Hey Hunter, you've got plenty of time. Nothing wrong with using your ex as a standard to compare with others. Keep looking and when one comes along that excites you you will find that even though she may be different from your ex, what you like about her is more important. Nothing wrong with thinking about the ex, the time will come when someone new looks pretty good.

Absolutely nothing! There is nothing wrong with trying to pick the right girls, in my opinion. I'm very picky about which guys I go out on dates with!

Maybe your subconsciousness is doing what it's human nature to want the unattainable. Get over it or it will lead to a life of dissatisfaction or steal her away from her husband.
