to see a truly in depth and thorough scientific investigation of the Jesus Tomb findings? As a Christian, I know I would. I believe it would prove unequivocally that the tomb that was found is not that of Jesus Christ. Being that science is often used against Christian beliefs, maybe this time science can actually be used in our favor for a change.

We had such a great sermon in church today. It was about Jesus raising from the dead. The pastor also spoke of several real archaeologists who debunked this "find". This isn't news...it's been run up the flagpole before. It has no basis in fact and will fade from view. But the truth will always stand. Heaven and earth will pass away, but God's word will never pass away.

The evidence you seek is already out there and been known in main stream for 30 yrs.

Tomb was found 30 yrs ago, not recently.
Tomb has been tested with DNA, no one in the tomb was related to each other.
There are 9 other tombs in that region with the same names
The guy who is doing this show is the guy who made the movie Titantic. He is doing all this as a marketing hype to stir up the masses so when he releases his movie later on it can get high marks at the box office cause so many will want to see it due to this show.
I cannot believe how many can even believe his claims, for just a few clicks on the web shows he is nothing but telling lies. Let alone Christians should know better, for the bible tells us what happened, and I sure don't recall this tomb being mentioned let alone Jesus's bones being on earth.

I wouldn-t mind, but am not sure it would really prove anything. OK, if it were proven that it were not of the first century, then that would shut a few people up for the moment, until somebody else came up with some crazy claim.
But it could be a tomb from the first century. And so what? Even if that were so, archeologists say there is only about 1 chance in 10 that it is the tomb of Jesus of Nazareth. (And if we believe in Jesus the way the New Testament teaches about Him, then we give it 0 chances in 10!)

It all sounds interesting however, there is one thing I don't see and bothers me.

Why was there not DNA done on the supposedly Son of Jesus to check the matches with Jesus and Mariamne? This would prove their case further.

I'm very open minded and believed for years contray to the beliefs of my fellow Christians that Jesus was married to Mary.

The story is very interesting and has brought a lot of things to light. We should not be so quick to condemn these people's work. At the worst if it was proved that Jesus was not the son of God, I would remain a Christian because of his good teachings.

Back in the early centuries many things were forgotten, changed, altered, hidden or lied about maybe to suit the situation. Anyone who believes that a man obstained from love or sex for 33 years is not being realistic. A good Jew must be married by a certain age and Jesus was a good Jew.

I want to see the DNA done to all that was found in the tomb to establish relationship.

Well, being a Christian, I can use the "science" to deny that.
Now, I'm talking what most scientists think. That coffin was about a foot in lengh, and what they belive, it would have been about 65 billion yuears ago that the monkies or whatsoever where that size...And, because they say BC and AC, they'd have to belive that there was a Before Christ, and we can tell that it was 2,007 years ago, and that dosen't come up with 65 billion... Of course, they never did show the bones on the TV, and back then, they never had things that were strong enough to spilt bones apart.

Its a hoax that tomb is related to a tomb found in 1980, the names on those oshuarys are common for the time and jesus doesnt appear on any of them. Another fake was said to have been pulled from their remember the john brother of jesus oshuary hoax? its the same thing. Dont sweat it, its a leftwing hollywood money grab hoax anyone who knows anything about archeology would dispute the findings.

I would not mind an honest in depth scientific investigation of the tomb. I know it would prove that it was not the tomb of Jesus. You will never find Jesus' bones because he is still using them.

If you watched the afterward hour special about critiquing the documentry ud see that there were alot of problems with the investigations. A lot of interviews were cut so that the director could have them say what he wanted them to say. This documentry was full of holes and speculations, it was the convincing way that he presented it that will have a lot of people buying into this, not the actual evidence. Because their isnt much.

I like your enthusiasm. Very different than many Christians. Seeking truth and pushing forward should scare anyone who truly believes, but accepting the truth (any found outcome) afterward is truly divine.

What so many people fail to understand is science is not a tool to prove or disprove anything but a way to gather information to learn and understand our surroundings.
Science is neutral.
