Members of the Armed Forces are not supposed to take public stances on controversial subjects. If they do so publicly during their tour of duty, they may become charged and court-martialed. It is their job to defend the country, not to be involved in making political/moral statements of any kind. They are supposed to be aloof from non-military issues of any kind.

No sir, what is disturbing is you have the time to sit around and ponder such things.

Why would the USMC support the NAACP? How would that contribute to a better Marine Corps?

It is not the Marine Corps job to support special interest groups. What would make you think they should?

It is the function of the US Marine Corps to go places, blow things up and kill people. None of that has to do with the NAACP or the UNCF.

I don't understand the logic of why it would be disturbing. They shouldn't sponsor the NAACP or the UNCF.
