polygamy is currently illegal in the USA. as it is practiced now, it is more of a control and power trip than anything else. When the Mormons began practicing it, it was to take care of the widows and children of the men slain by mobs. there were requirements-the hierarchy of the church approached the man after determining that he was finacially capable and asked if he would take on the responsibility of another family. he could accept or not, BUT, he had to have the consent of the 1st wife. the husband did not get to pick who the plural wife was going to be.(Mormon)church sponsored polygamy ended before Utah was admitted as a state, and is now an excommunicable offense. however, the reformed lds church still practices polygamy. if you love your husband, cleave unto him and none else, as the bible says. and his family will probably dislike you, but your husband shares your views, so don't let it worry you. if you want to teach your children about polygamy, it's up to you and your husband, not his parents.

Are you all residing here in the United States? that polygamy thing is 100% illegal in this country. If, however, you are in a country that it is legal, well then, you and your husband, regardless, need to sit down, come up with an agreed decision on this, and let his parents and family know that even though they practice it, you don't and don't want your children exposed to that lifestyle. Let them know that if they cannot respect your decision, then they don't need to be around your children until they do decide to respect your decision. I wish you the best. Take care.

Explain to them that you would rather it not be part of your life, that your husband supports your thoughts and beliefs. If they do not respect your wishes then explain to them that you are an adult, your husband is an adult and you need to protect your children from those that threaten them.
Have no further contact with them until they can respect your wishes.
(I am having issues with my own family and am on the verge of telling them good bye until they can respect my wife and I. Its tough, as my Father is terminally ill and I want my family involved in our lives, but they just don't get it.)
Sorry for your plight

How you raise your children is up to YOU. It is not up to anyone to choose when to discuss sexuality with your children. Tell all of them that YOU were the one who carried those kids for 9 months and YOU were the one who delivered them - not ANYONE else went through that but you, so they all can shut the hell up about the kids. Sorry, but it's a mom's world when it comes to the kids.
