Its not a commodity.
Its a state of mind.
If it was a commodity it would be ubiquitous like cel phones and ipods.

Peace of mind is hard to aquire these days because there is just too much noise.

I don't mean just outside noise, cars and equipment. And I don't mean music either. And I'm not specifically talking about TV.

What I mean is that, we spend so much of our day walking around in a fog -- go to work, come home eat dinner, watch TV, go sleep -- that we never take the time to clear our minds of all the various randem things we hear and barely have time to think about.

Sure, TV and music, and cars and general noise contribute. But so does the internet. It doesn't make a literal sound, but after surfing a while to your mind it buzzes.

Everyone needs to take some time to clear their minds - just sit there and try to empty your heads of all the useless crud that has accumulated in there over the course of the last day.

Peace of mind is not achieved easily.
The present youth does not even know what the meaning is then how can they think of getting it.
Life is very hectic as there is a big struggle to just get the basic requirements in life like food, shelter, clothing and education and then to get a job.How can people have any time for other stuff.
One must try to find peace of mind in all these things of daily life itself.

Many things in the world tody rob people of inner peace, or, peace of mind. In many countries unemployment & low income bring poverty & economic desperation. In other lands many expend a great deal of their energy chasing wealth & material possessions. However, often the competitive life-style involved brings anxiety, rather than peace of mind. Illness, war, crime, injustice, & oppression are also thieves of people's peace of mind.

People want more and more. Buy or build a better house, car, clothing, furniture, electronics. Try to .pay off the credit cards Make the scene with friends , R&R, etc, etc. There is nothing new about a 50-80 hour work week Then try to have time with the family..spouse, kids, etc. It seems, the more we have, the more we want.

It always has been. People like to look back at "the good old days" with nostalgia, but the truth is our parents and grandparents were no better off emotionally then we are.
Lack of "peace of mind " is the human condition.

Now a days people are running after materialistic success rather than spirituality. People are searching peace in pubs and discos where one can get misery rather peace. To achieve peace of mind we have to search in our own hearts.

Because not too many people honestly KNOW what makes them happy. Then on top of that if you know and have what makes you happy wanting more. The grass isn't greener on the other side. If you can accept what you have and know that you can only control what YOU YOURSELF can physically do, then you should be happy. The pursuit of happiness ends when you PURSUE happiness. Just BE happy...
