I just discovered I could mirror write. I am right handed, was never switched over from being a leftie or anything, and I can't seem to find much online about this. Everything I've found talks about people that can do this who just had major brain injuries, but this is not me. I can simply write backwards, with my right hand. Does anyone know anything about this?

I'm left handed and I can do it easily. When I was a kid, I couldn't figure out which way to write and would sometimes write backwards and sometimes write forwards. Infact, it makes more sense to write right to left than left to right, but alas, the world is backwards for us lefties! Develop writing with your left hand so if your bored you can switch over. I do that sometimes during lectures because I can write with my right too. A fun thing is writing backwards with the left and forwards with the right from the centre of the page. Of course, I've heard of the ability to write two different things this way, but I don't do it so often that I can do that! I just write the same sentence. Drawing that way is fun.

Did you just start mirror writing, or did you learn it? Some people do learn how to mirror write on purpose. Apparently Leonardo da Vinci used this method to keep his notes safe from prying eyes.

I can do mirror writing, but I normally do it on purpose. On a few occasions, I have written letters in a word completely backwards, but usually only when I am tired. I am dyslexic.

I doubt there is anything unnatural about your ability. I am left handed and can write backwards with either hand although I do better with my right hand when writing backwards. However I can not read it without a mirror.

well you could be dyslexic but that actually means reading and seeing things naturally backwards so if you read backwards then yah its a good chance of dyslexia however you could have just learned this by trying new things or maybe you just picked up something new i dont know much about this really like my friend can do this and hes not dyslexic at all until he writes himself then its really hard to read what he writes! anyways i hope you can figure this out good luck!! =]

if you mean back word writing, then it is just a mannerism of behavior, not a mental illness nor a gifted thing.
