Good question.
If you want to see the unedited and complete version of the Bible of God, (including all the source texts from which it was written), then you need to check out

Whoa Whoa whoa- King James I - Did that one honey! That was the largest alteration to the text was know as the bible, when it was translated from sandscript to latin to english. There are not words to "correctly" replace or explain the orginal ones, so they made due with what they knew.
The Catholics have done lots of things but that's only part of that story. They adapted it to their belief.
Many other religions have done the same Mormons, Penecosals and Jehovah Witness to name a few.
Also the New Testament was started over 200 years after the death of Christ. All those "witnesses" were long dead, so its all "hear say" anyway. This is book of moral codes and lessons inspired by the word of God and written and rewritten by Man to illuminate the actions and words of "our" God.
Only true archival Christian references can actually be found in the Jewish Torah. It is simply amazing how detailed the living history of the scribes and the generations of caretakers of these written words. The story of Jesus Christ is amazing as told by the Jewish. As Christians, its a blessing to have brethen that take great care to document lifes is such ways.
It has been my practice to teach the "word of God" as the scripture inspires you to believe and do in deed and thought.
Written word (any kind) can be read and interpreter differently by each person that views it, so discussion of that and understanding of the "historical reference" of some of the verbiage changes "what" we would read it to be.
A modern bible will translate that "dead language" for you. Once again editing the Bible.
If you are reading a Bible for the first time, get a modern one. Just read it. Like a magazine. Just open it up and read it. Let it take you on a journey and follow your heart. The stories are lessons and they apply wear you need them. Its just a book, and it you let it the feelings that come from it will inspire you to realize that "just a book" can change your life forever.

The catholic Church did not remove any books from teh Bible. There are many writings out there that were never considered part of the Bible, but they were never part of the Bible to begin with.
The protestants removed 7 books from the Bible in the 1500s.

Serena, I hate to tell you this, but stuff has been loped from the Bible. Also, there are references to other books that aren't there. I am not saying that those particular ones were loped from the
Bible, but there is **** missing. Eve was not the first woman created either. Also, to answer the question, it is not the word of god, because words belong to humans. If there is a god, he is not words. He just is. He is the energy force, he is all knowledge. He can not be contained in a little book. I feel it is disrespectuful to god to say we understand you, you are in this little book, and this is what you want. We, understand god. No you don't.

First of all, it was not the Catholic church that removed the books. The protestant bible is different from the bible the Catholics have, because those books were not deemed authentic.
Honey....can I tell you something? There is one proof and one proof only for the veracity of the bible...put the time in to study it for yourself. God can show you if indeed you can rely on it as His word.

I believe the Catholic version of the Bible has several more books in it than the regular King James version. The Catholic version has like the Book of Tobit and the Macabees and a few others. There are many books that didn't make it into holy scripture that doesn't make the holy scriptures any less true.

Actually, you have that backward. The Catholic Bible has 7 books that Protestant Bibles don't have. Those books were removed by Martin Luther in 1529. The Catholic Church still uses the version of the Bible used by Christ Himself.

The historic past of the Apocryphal books you have found out is extremely one-sided. those books weren't blanketed interior the Masoretic textual content fabric of the Tanakh, the Hebrew previous testomony. They have been besides the undeniable fact that, blanketed interior the Septuagint, the Greek Translation of the Hebrew OT frequently utilized in Christ's day. whilst Jerome translated the Scriptures into Latin, he blanketed the the Apocryphal books, yet with the specific preface that they weren't blanketed interior the unique Hebrew textual content fabric and could be seen apocryphal! Later copyists copied those books yet left out the preface Jerome had made. for that reason the books became commonly used interior the Roman Church as being "scripture", even although they weren't blanketed interior the Hebrew OT, nor have been they actually commonly used as scripture by potential of Jerome. because of fact Jerome did not settle for them as actual scripture, and because (it somewhat is the significant section) weren't component of the HEBREW Masoretic textual content fabric, those books are rejected by potential of Protestant church homes. It wasn't in simple terms Martin Luther the two. John Wycliffe, the 1st person to translate the Bible into English, long till now Luther replaced into ever born, made know Jerome's preface, and for that reason blanketed this preface in his very own translation. because of fact those books weren't interior the Hebrew Cannon, because of fact Jerome stated that they have been seen apocryphal even in his day, i don't have faith it somewhat is suitable to declare that the Protestants bumped off those books, yet somewhat that the RCC further the books ... with regardless of sturdy intentions ... in an prolonged time. a much extra specific protection of the Protestant place is given on the final link published under.

Believe as you wish. If you are a skeptic and do not wish to believe the bible, then DON'T. You will not get an answer here to clarify the answer to your question enough that you will be convinced that the bible is in fact-THE WORD OF GOD. Religion has so many things that are not provable, (especially to one that WANTS to doubt and argue) that it is useless to try to convince someone with no faith.
