Never use soap or an abrasive cleaner. Instead, wash the wok in hot water. If necessary, you can use a copper scouring pad to remove particles of food sticking to the bottom. (Hint: If you find this problem occurring regularly,

If you properly seasoned the wok when you bought it, it should not need cleaning with anything more than hot water and the bamboo brush that came with. If you have problems with food sticking, scrub the wok well in hot, soapy water and reseason the wok.

Mild soap and water. If it's a cast-iron wok then don't scrub off the shiny black finish - that's what helps it resist sticking. Check out the link below for care tips for a wok.

If you bought the wok new, a bamboo brush probably came with it for cleaning, run hot water into the wok, swish with bamboo brush to losen any clingy bits of food, rinse, repeat as needed. allow to sit with hot water in the wok for up to 1 hr if needed for particularly stubborn foods. DO NOT under any circumstances use soap or detergent in your wok, this will harm the seasoning (the carbon coating that turns the wok dark, and makes it nonstick) drain water, set wok on stove, heat over med heat until all water has evaporated from entire wok. add approx 1 tsp of oil to the wok, and rub it into the surface with a paper towel, rub outside of wok with same paper towel, adding a tiny bit more oil if needs be to very lightly coat exterior of wok. (unlike the interior of the wok, the outside just needs a super thin coat of oil to prevent rust) allow wok to cool on stove, then put away.

Add water to it while it is hot. This will loosen the stuck food.
If it's cast iron don't scrape it. If it's electric and teflon use detergent but don't scrub and damage the coating or submerge it. Aluminum can be washed with detergent and scrubbed.
