"Cover uppers" are usually charged with :

a) Conspiracy to commit perjury and to cover up.
b) Conspiracy to hinder investigation or prosecution.
c) Lying to investigators.

So, one who covers up crimes is usually a "conspirator" or "perjurer" or at least a "violator".

Other lyrical possibilities might eb "obscurer", "concealer", "shrouder", "deceiver", and the like.
