I was doing a 7 day fast but then got really sick and had to brake it after just three days.
How do people do 30 day ones and clame to have more energy and feel great?
Can being 13 and not an adult like the people that say they feel good have anything to do with it?

Most of the time when people do fasting, it is not completely eating or drinking nothing. A good fasting program consists of drinking natural fruit/vegetable juices with other herbs added. Also a good multi-vitamin is used to round out your nutritional needs that you won't get from the juices. This type of fasting helps your body rid itself of the toxins it accumulates from the usual junk food we eat. In return you will feel less sluggish and able to think more clearly.
You should go to a natural whole foods store that sells organic foods and herbs. Talk to the staff there about what you have in mind and they should be able to give you the guidance you need. People who work in these store generally know a good deal about nutrition and can help put you a plan together, maybe even with recipes for the drinks.
You will feel different than normal but with a juice cleansing fast you really shouldn't get so sick you have to discontinue.
