yep A&D is what most artists use! i would recomend not wearing a shoe until its heald. i know that sucks, but your shoe could cause it to rub off. i know a girl who had one and her show wore off the bottom half of the tattoo.

Well, your tattoo artist should have supplied you with some ointement to take home. At least mine did, but you could definitely use the A & D ointment or a generic equivilent. When I got my tattoo they told me I had to keep ointment on it once a day and keep a gauze type bandage over it until it healed. Needless to say it looks great still even after 2 babies.

A&D Ointment is in the area of baby care. HOWEVER, it clogs the pores of your skin and I would not recommend it. I have tryed it before on my first tatt and will say I learned my lesson. Try Curel (non-fragrance) Lotion. It keeps your skin and tattoo moist and does not clog your pores. When you bathe, clean you tattoo with Dial Liquid Soap (or any other antibacterial soap without dyes and fragrances). Warm to Hot water will open the pores of your skin to help it breathe. Then use the Curel and just keep it moist. (Or any lotion with minimum alcohol and without any dyes or fragrances). A&D is really gunkie and if you develop a zit from clogged pores on or near your tattoo, you will find it can be uncomfortable. Either way, everyone's experience will be different its best to talk to you tattoo artist and follow their directions. Good Luck & Congrads!

Every tattoo I have which is 8 I used either A&D or Neosporin. I found that Neosporin helps it heal a little quicker, but it also scabs more so be careful. I prefer the A&D cause if you scab too quickly you will lose color in ur scabs.

That's right. A&D ointment. Once the day after, and then no more. Don't use too much.

Use A & D, but only twice a day. Every other time, just use lotion. Non abrasive of course.
