That's the $64,000 question, isn't it? Have you noticed how Christians jump in to exclaim how much they're looking forward to the end of the world each time one of them brings it up? Then they turn around and say that _atheists_ are the ones living without hope...

Hardly. It is a simple matter of wanting to be with the one we love most of all. The end of the word is not the end of all things, but a transition from a world filled with hunger, tears, war and so many other horrors to a paradise of everlasting light and love. He is with us in spirit every day, but we long for the day when there is no death, no sadness, a day when all is light and joy.
Why do we not kill ourselves? Because it is our duty to be obedient to Him and share the Word. This is the age of the church and when this age is over, there will be no hope left for anyone who has rejected Him. I don't like to work at my job either, but I do so to earn a living for the sake of my family.
So we press on. We tolerate your barbs and venom out of love for Him and hope for you.
Some day he will call me home and on that day my work will be done. Then and only then will I put down my own cross and join Him.
