yes, id say go for it. Ive been through the same thing. It is taking a risk though. I dont know what kind of guy he is so im not sure on how he might act if the two of you ever break up. You never know what he'll say if you do end up breaking up but if hes a nice guy give it a shot. If you dont feel that way about him just keep it as friends but if you feel that you really like him definitely take the risk. Good luck.

There's not really enough information here to make an intelligent comment. But, if you are asking if - in general - is it OK to date friends, I would say "yes".

I went on a lot of friendly dates. We had a good time and enjoyed each others company. Heck of a lot better than sitting around and being alone.

Just wondering - how do you know that you will be seeing this "friend" for the next 6 years at school? This question seems like it has a lot more important detail than you are presenting here.

If you are going to see each iother in school for the next six yrs. then you have to be very strong and not care if you date this individual and end up being friends.
If you know already theres no potential for more than friends then why date unless you are o.k. with the friendship being a casual dating relationship. Some people can do it and be o.k, with it and they have an understanding its only a casual dating kissing friendship they have and they know it will never be more than that. And if you both understand that, then there shouldn't be a problem. But if one is wanting more than the other then you will have problems and potentially lose a good friend.

Why not take a chance?
You'll know soon enough if you're supposed to be friends.

Yes it is worth it because most love relationships start out as a friendship anyways

its worth it.... especially if your already friends.... means you'll get along... and there is no reason why if you do break up that u cant still be friends.
