I will give you only one point, and that is :
What was the faith of Prophet Muhammad,?
What was the faith of His Successors, ( Four Caliphs),?
Was Hazrat Ali (RA), Shia?
Was Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique was Sunni?
The answer of above question is The Point for your consideration.
Muslim is Muslim, No Shia, Sunni, Maliki, Humbuli, Hanafi, or Shafaee, etc. etc..
These Ulama's tried to help people like us to understand Religion, and tried to collect few things together for our convenience not to divide us on the bases of their names.
And further more Prophet Muhammad is Final and last messenger and Prophet of God Almighty.
He is the seal of Prophethood, and no Nabi or Rasool will come after Him. Religion is Completed.

Sunni, because one of the central beliefs in Islam is that Mohammad is God's messenger. Shia have issues with accepting him as our leader and give more regard to their imams than the prophet himself (peace be upon him).

none of them. The Prophet (pbuh) said that there will be over 70 sects of islam but only one will be true. A man asked which one will it be and he said the one who follows the Quran and the Sunnah (hadith). As long as you follow those you are a muslim. The individual traditions of the sects are unimportant.

post muhammad, his right hand men travelled all over the world to spread islam...
it's really up to you but in malaysia, we follow imam shafiee's teachings...
which is really irrelavent as all teachings are the same...no difference in theory...that's the beauty of islam...standardising...
all the above mentioned (yours) are stereotyped as they majority of them are and were targets of assumption of actions done to the world...
