where you can discuss your lack of faith without having it shoved down your throat? I mean have a serious conversation about God and whether or not he exists. A logical conversation that doesn't sway to one side or the other?
It seems here that you have to be on one side of the argument or the other. I'm in the middle and I'm not getting any closer to either side by what I'm reading here. (It's entertaining, but not helping me.) Where are all the Agnostics?

I would like to be able to discuss a realistic, objective view to both sides of the argument without being insulted, without having quotes from the Bible thrown at me and without condescending comments about how stupid people are that do believe.

CJohn, I don't want to believe in a God just because someone said I'll go to heaven! I want to believe in him because I know for a fact that he exists.

That's a hard decision, and it's a personal one, too.
Check out these websites:

These books might help, too:

Good luck on your quest...

Unless you are looking for that is ok then you are listening to the wrong person, I am a Christian, I was raised as an Advent Christian, and converted Catholic. I'm upset that so many Christians try to sell God like they are a bunch of used car sales men. If a person believes because they were brow beat into, they really don't believe. I have read the Bible and I believe that Jesus died for my sins and yours too. I can understand why you feel the way that you do. Let me start with there a number of Christians who sit in judgment, this is not the teachings of Jesus. I would like to mention that. I could tell you how very wonderful Jesus has been to my family, you could turn right around and tell me that that wasn't so. Nothing that I say will change your mind, and nothing that you could say would change mine. We will have to agree to disagree.

You're right that you have to be on one side of the argument or the other.
In the Bible, God doesn't try to prove His existence. He just says, "I am that I am." Therefore, I don't think any flesh and blood person can convince you.
You'd rather believe the agnostics? That doesn't make sense, logically.
If you believe God is real and you die and find out there is no God, you've lost very little if anything. If you believe there is no God and die and find out He is real, you've lost everything for eternity.
It's a choice all of us have to make. One way or the other the sure thing is that we all die.

Discuss it in your head first, when you have a decision put it on and see if it fits. If it does not take it off and look for something that you feel good in... keep looking and searching until one day you realise you are looking with different eyes and all of a sudden what you are wearing changes to match what you really are then as you come to know yourself others will come to know you and you will know the truth.

One thing i have learned is that everyone has faith. Everyone has faith( believes in, thinks about, relies on, trusts in, etc.). Some believe in the power of money, Others rely on authority, others think constantly about their spouses, others trust in God.
You don't have a lack of faith, you just have not directed it toward God. You even know that He exists or you would not have capitalized God. If anyone wants to know God and who He really is just think about Him and Him alone. His thoughts will become your thoughts. You already have His faith, He has given His faith to every man.

Well, I think you can't have a satisfying discussion on a general purpose questions and answers forum, although you may get a satisfying answer or two. From here, i t would have to be pursued in a non-public format, I guess, starting with e-mail exchanges..
