I was wondering if anybody has had a massage to help em with martial arts.

I'm in thai boxing and after a while of punching my shoulders tense up. I know the most common massages are Swedish, Aromatherapy, Hot Stone, Deep Tissue, Shiatsu, Thai, Reflexology, Sports, and Back but what would you recommend:

Whats is more relaxing and what would help loosen up my shoulders?

Thanks

Oooh, I'm a big fan of massage. Thai, deep tissue, Swedish, sports... Any of them.

This website has a really good run down of the differences between massages:

If you're training a lot, I'd suggest a sports massage.

However, since you said you wanted something "more relaxing," I'll mention that I tend to be more energized than relaxed after a sports massage. I tend to be really sleepy after a Swedish massage. I feel like jelly after Thai and I feel sore after deep tissue.

Of course, my sports massages also include Korean hand acupuncture...YMMV!

Absolutely!!! Massage can be the best healer / muscle relaxer there is.
There have been times where my whole body was a walking injury, and getting a massage and then a good nights' sleep, made all the difference in the world.

If you've been 'freshly' injured however, you should wait a couple of days before you get a massage. You don't want to massage an area that has just been injured. I'm not entirely sure why that is, but my wife is a masseuse and and she said so, dammit!!!

As far as which type? Deep tissue is my favorite. It'll hurt a little, but it seems to help the most.

Sounds like a fantastic idea. Pampering from the comfort of your own home. I would say be careful about where you go, and make sure someone knows where you are at all times. Great market to break in to though, as pregnant women are often limited by treatments they can have, and products that can be used. Tailoring for this specific group should work well. Good luck, I hope it works out.

I'm a machoist and doesn't like to recieve soft gentle massage from someone I don't really love, so the answer would be deep tissue.

a proper sports massage on a regular basis does wonders.also just laying in a cold bath with some radox or an unheated pool.
