He has just had surgery, the last one he will be able to have as the cancer is seated in the chest wall.. it has NOT spread to the organs... yet.. I have him on a supplemental program with a high protein diet and he is also taking antihistamines as this cancer is caused by histamines... the vet put him on Rimadyl 75mg 2x daily.. he is also an epileptic..so he takes phenobarbitol 2x daily... vet also added thyroxin to help him heal more normally.... I am living on disability so my finances are very tight... but I love this dog so... he is my best friend and my companion... Is there hope that he may get stronger with the immune system boosters... and the antihistamines may stave off the spread of this diabolical killer... I am just so heartbroken and am keeping a strong positive front around my sweet friend... Is it the cancer that will eventually take him from me or all these medications.... I have heard that Rimadyl is extremely hard on the system...

A Mast Cell type III cancer is the most aggressive type in cancers, and it kills quickly.
Sadly the meds given are just prolonging his suffering, although it won't be by much.
It's very hard to lose a loved one, unbearable at times. He'll let you know when the times comes, and although you may think it's impossible right now, you'll be at peace then, because you'll know he's no longer suffering.
Far too many animals have no one to care for them, unlike yours. Thanks for caring!

I hate to say this because i am an animal lover myself, you should have him put down, for he dont have to suffer. I know it's hard to do but them dogs life spand aint but 10 to 12 years or less. But do what you think, thats what id to. Id hate to have him put to sleep but it would be for his best.
